London born, raised in Johannesburg, South Africa and New York-based artist Christine Vaindirlis moved to New York to pursue her career as a  composer/arranger and vocalist in 2004. Having studied at the Milan Conservatory in Italy and the Berklee College of Music in Boston her music, while ingrained in the South African Jazz of her childhood, is infused with an energetic and invigorating blend of world culture, R&B, funk and swing.

In 2009, she released her debut album “Dance Mama!” under Ubuntu World Music, a ten-track collection of original compositions and arrangements featuring a first-class band. Three of the tracks hit the finals, semi-finals and quarter-finals of the 2009 USA, International (ISC) and UK Songwriting Competitions respectively. Her song "Indaba" also won a travel agency cash prize for an ad agency placement, while the album received airplay in the US and South Africa, and on the in-flight World Music play-lists on Continental, Copa, Sri Lankan, Caribbean and United Airlines. In 2010, Christine was featured on CNN International, NBC’s New York Non-Stop, ESPN and Time Out New York. 

 Christine’s deeply personal experience and transcontinental life has culminated in her songs and remains a source of profound happiness and gratitude, the sunny disposition that echoes throughout her work. “It's like a house that you build, brick by brick and you never know how long it’s going to take or what it will be like. You cry and scream with frustration in between, but then when you stop, look back and see the big picture, you think ‘wow!’ It’s fascinating how far I've come and how it's all coming together, and it has been immeasurably more than I had ever expected or imagined!,” Vaindirlis smiles. 

“My inspiration is grounded in my faith in God, translated into the African concept of Ubuntu which speaks particularly about the fact that we can't exist as human beings by ourselves, we are interconnected. We too often think of ourselves as individuals, separated from one another. What we do affects the whole world. When we do good, it spreads out; it is for the whole of humanity. For this is the reason I was happy to partner with Hope Sings, giving the opportunity to others to start laying down their own foundation of "bricks", so that one day we'll all be able to look back and say, we've been able to help others accomplish immeasurably more that they had ever expected or imagined!"
