John Mercurio and Tajlei Levis met at the BMI musical theatre workshop and have since collaborated on many musicals including Glimpses of the Moon and The Bootlegger & The Rabbi's Daughter. With him on music and her on words, they have made a specialty of literary musicals about vintage New York.

"Finish What You Started" is from A Time To Be Born, a 1940's New York Musical, based on the novel by Dawn Powell.  Bursting with songs, romance and more than a few martinis, A TIME TO BE BORN is a story of ambition and identity in glamorous 1940's Manhattan - a city ruled by media moguls and scheming socialites - against a backdrop of America on the verge of war. It had its debut and a sold-out run at the Lucille Lortel theatre as part of the NY International Fringe Festival.
